PROGRAMS
In Michigan, Ama International implements several impactful programs that cater to the specific needs of the local community. One of our key initiatives is focused on mentorship and professional development for underserved teens and young adults. We believe that engagement in volunteerism and international service trips can be transformative experiences that not only provide valuable skills but also instill a sense of purpose and civic responsibility. Through our mentorship programs, we connect young individuals with experienced mentors who guide and support them in their personal and professional growth.

Another crucial program we offer is job training and upskilling through our newly developed Xform program. Recognizing the growing demand for tech skills in today's job market, we have collaborated with Tech Elevators, Flextal, and The Right Place to provide a pathway for individuals with no coding experience to pursue high-earning careers in the tech industry.

We offer comprehensive guidance, support, and leadership to participants, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in this rapidly evolving field.
In addition to our focus on mentorship and job training, we extend our support to the local New American community through emergency assistance on a case-by-case basis. We understand that individuals and families may encounter unforeseen challenges and crises, and we strive to be a reliable source of support during these difficult times. Furthermore, in partnership with Corwell Health's Healthier Communities program, we collaborate to provide food and gifts to approximately 200 immigrant families during the holiday season. This partnership allows us to spread joy, foster a sense of community, and provide much-needed support during a time that can be particularly challenging for new arrivals.

Through these Michigan-based programs, Ama International aims to make a tangible and positive impact on the lives of underserved individuals and communities. By offering mentorship, professional development, job training, and emergency support, we strive to empower individuals, broaden opportunities, and foster a more inclusive and supportive community environment.
IN LOVING MEMORY
In memory of Marcus and his unfulfilled desire to participate in a mission trip due to financial barriers and the pandemic, we have established a scholarship fund. Marcus, a beloved member and dear friend of Ama, tragically passed away at the age of 20 due to a drug overdose. He will always hold a special place in our hearts and is deeply missed.
The purpose of this scholarship fund is to provide students with the opportunity to travel abroad and engage in life-changing experiences through service. We specifically aim to support students who face similar economic barriers that Marcus encountered. We believe that finding meaning and purpose in life greatly influences the choices we make. Serving in developing communities can be a transformative experience that helps individuals discover their purpose. Traveling to new places opens minds, expands perspectives, and broadens worldviews. For many students who have never ventured beyond Michigan, the chance to travel abroad is invaluable. Additionally, our program includes mentorship from our dedicated volunteer leaders before and during the trips, ensuring a supportive and enriching experience for all recipients of the scholarship.
